Christmas Day

We all had a great time on Christmas day. I was exhausted by the end of the day but it sure was fun. The kids got their non-working Hummer but seemed to be okay with the fact that we had to order the battery. I had some other pictures but for some reason this is the only one that loaded. I will try the others later i guess. Anyway, they were sitting in their Hummer and Camden was in the drivers seat. Not sure why Maeci is letting him do that but at least they are not fighting. They both got new clothes and of course that is what they have on. Scott and I got the things that we wanted just like most years. We are so spoiled by our families that it is just pitiful but we enjoy spoiling them just the same. We got too much like normal but we did have a birthday cake for Jesus and we sang Happy Birthday to him. We read the Christmas story and drank our Wassail. Overall it was a great Christmas. I am looking forward to next Christmas already. Its my favorite holiday and I am always ready when it comes around again!!!

Christmas Eve Disaster :(

I thought that I had Christmas all taken care of but there always has to be something that goes wrong. The kids got a Hummer ride on from Santa this year. We got all of the pieces out and charged up the battery overnight so that the kids could take it for a spin in the morning. After charging the battery, we turned it on only to find that the Hummer didn't work. The battery wouldn't hold a charge. We tried to find a replacement battery at 5 different Wal-Marts. We finally found one Wal-Mart that had them. My dad and Scott raced 35 minutes away to get it only to find that it wasn't the right one to fit the Hummer. We tried differents chargers and everything. So, tonight at 10pm, I finally resigned myself to the fact that the kids were getting a great Christmas present from Santa that they were going to have to wait to use. That makes me feel terrible but what else am I going to do. Besides, they got enough stuff to keep them busy for like the next couple of years!!

2 Days to Go!!!

Maeci keeps reminding me how many days until Christmas. Its almost here!! This morning on the way to work, this is the conversation that we had....

Maeci-Mommy, its ok that Santa didn't wrap my presents last year but I really want him to wrap them this year. Can we call him and tell him that??

Me--Well, sure we can...(I was thinking, who is home at 7:45am??)

Maeci-Let's call him now!

Me--Ok, (as I am dialing my mom's house trying to figure out how this is going to work)

I got my mom on the phone and acted like she was Mrs. Claus. I talked to her because Santa was busy and she takes care of all of the wrapping. Very good save because Maeci didn't ask a thing!! Good for me that I still have some ability to think fast on my feet!!

Sugar, Sugar, and more Sugar!!!

Today we were at Scott's parents house for our usual Sunday lunch and Sharon was baking some cookies. When she finished, she let all of the kids decorate some sugar cookies. Of course, they were loaded up with icing of all colors and sugar sprinkles. The kids had a great time and Maeci ate 3 of her cookies. When she finished, she snuck some of my hot chocolate and some more of another kind of cookie that Sharon had made. Once, I realized what she had consumed as far as sugar, I put my foot down and told her absolutely no more cookies. On the way home, this is the conversation that we had.....

Maeci-Mommy, can I have some Starbursts?
Me--No, baby, you have had plenty of sugar today.
Maeci-Mommy, I think that the sugar has gone down to my feet.
Me--Really???
Maeci-Yes, it needs to go all the way to my head!!!

I thought that was funny and pretty intelligent of her. She was trying so hard to get the Starburst!! Oh, she is a mess!~~

Shopping...

Well, its December 19th and I am officially done with my Christmas shopping!! I tried to get done before now but due to the weather and working, that did not happen. I got all of the presents wrapped and under the tree except for a box that I am waiting for. It should be here tomorrow. So, tomorrow I will nothing else to do as far as Christmas presents. Scott, on the other hand, is starting his tomorrow. His brother, dad, and himself are going to brave the crowds at the mall to get their shopping done. Glad it is them and not me!!!

Well, last weekend we went to the Neiman Marcus Parade and it was so much fun. We took a whole bunch of family and friends and met up with the Gibbs! It was such a good time and of course, the kids had a blast. When we came home that evening, we had our Sunday school Christmas party and the parade here in Fairfield. We had fun for the most part. The parade here left much to be desired but what do you expect from a small town. No offense to people from small towns!! :) Here are some pictures from the parade! We really did have a great time!!

Monday, December 8, 2008

Well, here is a picture of Scott's deer for those of you that were interested. Anyway, I attempted to take the kids pictures for our Christmas cards. I took like 15 and got one good one. I attached the good one and a couple of other ones that I got. As you can see both kids were tired by the time we got done and so was I. I guess I should be glad that I at least got one good one of my babies!!

Whirlwind Week!

Well, here it is Tuesday night and I am just getting around to blogging. We had a very long trip to my grandma's house but as usual it was alright. I was sick with a virus on Thanksgiving day which was totally jacked up. I have to admit that I was very upset because I waited all year long to eat some of my grandma's dressing, and I ate like 2 bites. Big huge bummer!! Every year when we are there, we always try to go hunting on my great grandma's land. Sometimes we get around to it and sometimes we don't. This year we did and Scott got his very first deer ever! I think he had a good time doing it but I was sleeping in my warm bed, so it was great for me!!!:) We played my cousin's XBox and I attempted to play Guitar Hero. Although, I wasn't very good, I sure had fun trying!! We got home late Thursday night and spent the rest of the weekend at Scott's parents house. All-in-all, it ws a good Thanksgiving, except for me being sick. That pretty much sucked but oh, well, we still have Christmas!

Thanksgiving Break

I know that it has been a while since I have blogged but it has been crazy. Scott finally got home from North Dakota late Thursday night only to inform me that he will probably have to go back in a couple of weeks. I was so tired most nights that I went to bed at like 9:30. I felt like an old lady but I couldn't help it. Anyway, we are leaving today to go to my grandma's house up by Amarillo. We will be there until late Thanksgiving evening and then we will be coming home. I will have pictures from there I am sure. Both of the kids are well but again my allergies are killing me and I have a sinus infection. I am sure that I picked it up from the daycare but at least my babies don't have it. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and we will see you later!!!

Super busy Weekend!!

Well, I know that I have not posted in over a week, let me catch you up....
Maeci and I both had the stomach virus for like 4 hours each, Scott found out he had to go to North Dakota for work this next week, we slept alot from being sick and then didn't sleep at all when Maeci was sick. That about catches us up until Thursday.....Ok, now, a couple of weeks ago, my parents had purchased tickets to take Maeci to the Backyardigans Live in Grand Prairie today. Well, my Dad ended up having a semi-emergent neck surgery and so he asked Scott and I to take her. We said "yes" and were secretly excited as the Backyardigans is probably our favorite cartoon that the kids watch. So, we were all ready to go and then, Scott finds out that he has to be in North Dakota on Monday. He has to drive so he had to leave today with another guy that he works with. Of course, I got the fun job of taking both kids to the Backyardigans by myself. I was actually kind of dreading it not because I didn't want to take her but because I was going to take her and be wrestling Camden as well. Much to my excitement, the total opposite happened. Both kids were absolutely perfect!! No acting crazy, no fits, no throwing cups (Camden Wesley), and all potty breaks were taken at the appropriate times. I could not believe it!! Of course, I bribed her with whatever she wanted, so after cotton candy, popcorn, a Backyardigans light up wand, and a t-shirt for each child, we were off to our seats. The show was great!! I would do it again in a heartbeat. If you have never been to the Nokia Theater, you should go. Anyway, we had a great time and I really enjoyed it alot!

Camden

This past weekend I got a cute video of Camden while he was playing. We have been working on getting him to do the "touchdown" signal and he started doing it. It's really funny!! He will do it and then start laughing because he thinks its hilarious. Gotta love the monster pjs too!!

Somber Day

Well, I wasn't going to blog about the election results but it's my feelings and my blog so here we go....My thoughts have been very sporadic since last evening. I will first say that I am extremely disappointed in the election this year. I feel like the best candidate did not win but it doesn't really matter since I did vote and my guy/girl didn't win. Now, my feelings about Obama are not about him as a person, just about his opinions and policies. I think some of his ideas are ridiculous and will never work but I also think that maybe with some help, a few of his ideas might be okay. My main worry is about our country and its enemies. We have a lot of people that don't like us and for us to vote in someone who really has no idea how to run our military is very scary. I am sure the Mr. Obama has a great learning curve with his education and all but I hope that he is very careful about how he handles our foreign affairs. I know that some of you reading probably voted for him and while I don't agree, that is my opinion. I will not however be disrespectful to a man who just basically became the new President of the United States. I will give him a chance (ok, I will try to) and I hope that he proves me wrong on some of the things that I say he will never be able to do. I know that all-in-all, God is in control and since I pray everyday, I really don't have anything to worry about. So, Obama has my prayers that he is able to make the right choices that will benefit the most people in our country and I truly hope that he is able to help get the market back the way it should be, because if he doesn't, we will really be in a world of hurt and the next president will be inheriting a mess a million times worse than Obama.

Here are some of the pictures from Halloween. The kids had a great time!! I planned a fall festival like party for the daycare that I work at and we went to that before we went trick-or-treating. That is where the kids are in these pictures. Camden, of course, has not interest in the games, just playing in the water fountain. I used to think that people who said boys were just so different were just weird, but now that I have one, he is wired totally different than Maeci. He has eaten more dirt and rocks in his 13 months than she has in her 4 1/2 years! :) Anyway, it was very fun for us and for the kids. The little girls in the top picture are some of Maeci's friends from the daycare and they were playing musical chairs. They had way too much candy but they definitely enjoyed themselves!!

Smart Cookie

Lately, Maeci has been asking me all kinds of random questions about things that I had no idea she knew. Yesterday, she asked me if the Earth was the only world. I cringed at trying to answer that one. I looked up some things about the planets and the universe and tried to explain to her the best that I could. She seemed like she understood and now of course, she wants to talk about planets, read about planets, and even use balls to demonstrate to Scott just how the planets really work in our universe (which is quite humerous even though she is exactly right!!) Then today we were talking about, what else but the planets, and she asked me if there was electricity on Jupiter. I told her I didn't think so but I wasn't sure. This was the conversation that ensued....

Maeci--Why doesn't Jupiter have electricity like we do??
Me--I am not sure, Jesus just didn't make it that way (typical good church answer when you don't know what else to say:)
Maeci--Does Jupiter have trains?
Me--No
Maeci--Well, if Jupiter had trains, then the trains could take to coal to the power plants and then they could make electricity, right.?
Mommy--Yes, I think that they could
Maeci--How do they make the electricity??
Mommy--Honestly, I don't know
Maeci--Do they glue it together and then put some different colors on it??
Mommy--(I just cracked up and told her she was sooo cute and sooo smart!)

Sometimes that girl is too smart for her own good. I know every parent wants their child to be smart and I am so glad that she is. She is a little genius and sometimes it makes me wonder if she isn't already smarter than...Scott!! :)

Finally!!

I have some good news to report....Camden is finally walking!! He is 13 months old and I wondered if he would ever walk. I would try to stand him up and he would just let his legs dangle and fuss at me. I finally just decided that he was going to bear crawl forever but he started walking a couple of days ago. He was outside standing by his car and I looked up and he was walking to Maeci's bike. He looks like a little penguin and it is hysterical!! I took him in to the dr. today for his 12 month check-up and of course, everything is progressing just the way it should. He is 80% for his weight...a whopping 27lbs and 90% for his length which was 33 3/4in. He has been off the bottle now for about 3 months and since he is walking (just in time)we got a great report!! Here are a couple of random pics that I took of the kids. They are so cute!!

Cowgirl Maeci??

We haven't even been here for a year and Maeci asked me today if she could have some cowgirl boots. She said that all of her friends have them. They are cute on some girls but the way Maeci is, I just don't see her as a country girl. I guess we will see but I am going to hold off buying boots as long as I can!!

Football vs. Family Part II

Well, as most of you know by now, the football vs. family thing turned out about 50-50. Somebody at Scott's family reunion brought a TV and hooked it up with some rabbit ears. Even though, it was kind of hard to see, we were still able to see the score. That was great when OU was winning but it was bad when we lost. Oh well, maybe next year, I guess.

Now, as far as fantasy football is concerned, it was a hard fought battle between Scott and I but in the end I won, of course!! :) Actually in our FF league, 3 games this week were husbands vs. wives and the wives won all 3!! That's right, we beat the little Nancy's! It was a great win for all of us!!

Overall, the weekend was fun! I wish the OU game would have turned out better but I guess I"ll have to wait until next year for the next OU vs. TX game!!!

Football vs. Family??

Most of you know I am a BIG family person. I love being surrounded by my family and doing things with them. I really do enjoy my in-laws (honestly, I do) and the rest of Scott's family as well. We always have a great time together whatever we are doing but this weekend I have to choose football first. I have 3 reasons for doing so....

1. OU vs TX
2. I am a huge OU fan and most of Scott's family are TX fans
3. Scott and I battle this weekend in fantasy football

I already had plans to watch the game Saturday in my OU shirt with my kids yelling "Boomer Sooner" as loudly and obnoxiously as they could just to annoy Scott:) and then I realized that this weekend is the annual "Allen Reunion." Scott's grandmother was an Allen and its the only family reunion that we ever go to because it just a few miles away from our house. So, someone obviously did not share my affinity for the football game. Of course, the game starts at 11:00am and the reunion starts at 10:00am. I guess I will have to check the scores on my cellphone until I can get back home to watch the game. Oh, and thank goodness for Tivo!!

Now, as far as fantasy football is concerned, I am the reigning champion of our league. It is 12 teams and I won last year. This year, I am 4-1 and so is Scott. I have to beat him!! I need to beat him so I can continue my superiority and keep my bragging rights. Well, I will let you know how the weekend goes!! BOOMER SOONER!!!!

Good ol Debate

Ok, I said I wouldn't talk alot about politics but I have to say something about last night's debate. I generally am not one for politics but this last couple of years has really peaked my interest. I have really enjoyed talking about the candidates and their views. I feel passionately about some things and some I could care less about but all in all, I have been really interested this year. I love Sarah Palin and I think she is such a special lady. She is a mother of 5 kids and that in itself makes for a rough time I am sure. Anyway, I watched the debate last night and I actually thought it went really well. Both VP candidates spoke about their views and corrected the other one when they thought they were wrong. I wish I had some way of knowing when they were wrong but I am sure we will never know that. After the debate was over, I still felt strongly about my presidential pick but only time will tell if everyone else agreed with me or not. Overall, it was a great debate and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Date Night

Ok, I am sorry that I haven't posted in over a week. I tried to get on the site several times but couldn't. So here I am a week and a 1/2 later trying to remember all of the things that have happened recently. Last weekend, Scott and I went on our first date in quite a while. We had so much fun! We went and ate at Outback and then we went to see Nights in Rodanthe. Loved the food and I loved the movie. I actually really like Diane Lane and Richard Gere so the two of them together was perfect. If you don't like romance movies, then you should go purely for the scenery of the movie. It was so pretty and very tranquil except for when the hurricane came. Anyhow, if you see it, let me know what you think. After the movie, we went shopping for a few things for the kids and then we got coffee and came home. It was very relaxing and we had a great time!!

Bedtime Tonight!!

Tonight after Maeci was done brushing her teeth, I was putting her in the bed while Scott turned on her music. He kissed her goodnight and walked out of the room. I generally stay for a couple of minutes answering questions about the upcoming week like, "when can I read by myself", "are you going to pick me up from school or is Nana" and "even though I have brushed my teeth, can I still have a drink?" After answering all of her questions, I gave her a kiss and was headed out the door, when I heard her say "no mama, I want a real kiss." I walked back to her bed and gave her a kiss on her sweet little lips. I was walking out and turned around to shut the door, when I noticed Maeci rubbing my kiss. I must have looked at her funny or something because she said to me "Mommy, don't worry, I wasn't wiping your kiss off, I was rubbing it in." I just about started crying. I blew her another kiss and walked out the door. At that moment, I thanked God for my sweet little girl and for moments like those. If I hadn't turned around when she said she wanted a real kiss, I would have missed out on something so sweet, it almost made me cry!!

Update on Dr. Appointments

Sorry I am just now getting to this but its been a busy week. We took both kids to the ENT and decided to hold off on tubes for both kids for now. Maeci has almost grown out of her infections and Camden is on the fence, so we will see what happens. However, after a follow up visit with our regular doctor, Camden was referred to an allergist. We went to see him and he was WONDERFUL!! He checked Camden and then decided to go ahead and allergy test him. I will admit I was a bit nervous but everything ended up just fine. He has a mild allergy to house dust, milk, soybeans, and corn. I just have to watch him and see how things go as far as those are concerned. He also tested positive for an allergy to peanuts. It's not a serious allergy but Dr. didn't want to tempt it to get worse. So, no peanuts of any kind for 6 months and then we will retest. He also put him on Singulair granules to try to control the allergy problems he has been having. So far, it seems to be working but of course only time will tell!!

My baby is ONE today!! :)

Well, one year ago today I was standing over the incubator in the NICU at Medical Center of Plano looking at my brand new baby boy. I knew he was kind of sick but looking at him now, you would never know that. It makes me kind of sad but he is ONE year old today. I can't believe that it has already been a year since he was born. I know it's kind of sappy but I love to think back about his birth story. My water broke about midnight and so we called a few people to get things started and made our way to the hospital. I checked in at about 1:00am and at 5:56am, Camden Wesley Scott Wilson was born. He is such a blessing from God and I thank him everyday that Camden was given to us.

Ok, now on to his party!! Due to the hurricane, we had a small party with only family. The theme was King of the Jungle. He had a super cute cake that was sooo good as usual and got some very cool gifts. I think that he likes his car the best. He loves to play with the steering wheel and of course, doesn't like to share with his sister. I let him have some cake of course, since it was his birthday and he ate it up. Not that anyone was surprised about that!!! Hope you enjoy the pictures!! He is sooo cute, huh!!

Update on Ike

Well, of course, we got all prepared and the weather wasn't as bad as we expected it to be. All that being said however, it was very windy and we got about 3 inches of rain. We lost some tree branches and some shingles but nothing serious. We actually only lost electricity for about an hour or so. When the hurricane was coming in, Scott and I drove around the subdivision and took some pictures of the water coming in. When these pictures were taken, the eye of the hurricane was still about 3 hours away from us but I was too chicken to get out again when it was at its worst. I am so glad that I was not anywhere near Galveston because I cannot imagine what those people went through. My prayers go out to them!!

Yikes IKE!!!

Well, with Huricane Ike heading right for Fairfield once it rolls over the coast, it should make for an interesting weekend. We are supposed to have 60-70 mph wind and 2-4 inches of rain. Most of you know that Camden's birthday party was supposed to be this weekend, but we are not sure if we are going to be able to have it since the weather may be bad. I know he won't really care but I do. I have been planning this for quite a while and now I am so sad that we might not have the party that I wanted to have for him. I know that life goes on and since he is only turning one, he probably couldn't care less. We will see. I will keep you posted on the hurricane situation. Pray for us if you think about it!

Random Pics

Here are some random pics of the kids. They both love their baths and its so hard to get them out. A couple of days ago we were running some errands in Fairfield and we saw the Weinermobile in the parking lot of one of the hotels. We went over there and the kids went crazy!! So, I took some pictures and promised Maeci that I would put them on my blog so that all of her friends could see it!!

Sick Kids Already....

Well, yesterday was the 1st day of school and my kids are already sick. I am sure that school has nothing to do with it since she has been coughing for about 3 days now with allergy stuff. They both had fever and were really crabby so off to the doctor we went. After 2 hours, 2 negative strep tests, 2 H&P's, 1 happy kid, 1 crying kid, and 2 appointments with an Allergist/ENT, we were walking through the parking lot to the car. Thank goodness, no shots but both kids are now on antibiotics for 10 days. Maeci has a double ear infection, tonsilitis, and allergic rhinitis, and Camden has tonsilitis and allergic rhinitis. I am sure the people at the pharmacy are so tired so seeing me come in they probably run and hide when they see my car pull up. Hopefully, after the antibiotic and the referral to the ENT, we will be making progress to keeping our kids well for more than a few weeks at a time. I will keep you updated on the appointments which are Friday morning.

First Day of School

Finally, the first day of school is here!!! Maeci has been asking me for the last 3 months when she was going to start school. I told her September 2 and so we have been counting down the months and then the days. Of course, September 2 is today and so Maeci was finally able to go to school. She was so excited!! I was glad she was able to go so I might have some time with Camden by myself. Plus, she needs to be learning more than what I can teach her. Here are some pictures from this morning!!

Democratic Extremists!!

You won't see my blogging about politics too much because I just won't. However, I have to share this little thing that really bothered me last night. I was watching the news last night and they were talking about the Republican National Convention. Then they showed all of the Democratic extremists acting like fools while they were protesting. I just don't understand acting like that. Do you think that really helps the situation?? I know that you are always going to have the extremists but come on people. The police were having to pepper spray them and they ended up arresting like 50 some people. All I know is that I didn't see any of the "Republican Extremists" acting like this at the Democratic Convention.

Let the Fantasy Begin!!

Last night, we had our Fantasy Football draft online and after some serious internet issues, we finally got to pick almost all of the players on our team. I am really not sure that I will have anything to cheer about but time will tell. Since, I am the reigning champion of the 12 team, mostly male league, (sorry, but I had to put that in there!!) I hope that my team at least shows up and makes the playoffs. I have to at least beat Scott, you know, just for bragging rights!! The name of my team is Bradylicious, long story there, but I though the name was great!! Wish me luck and don't worry, I will keep you posted!!

Four-year old randomness...

Maeci is always coming up with these random words that she uses in place of other ones. This morning she did it several times and it was hilarious. I thought that it definitely deserved its own post! We were on our way to town this morning and Maeci asked me where we were going. I told her we were going to Fairfield. She said to me "good, because if I stayed home, I would be a home-alot-a-gus!! I was like "what is that?" She said that is Chinese for a couch potato! I almost drove off the road laughing at her. Then later on this afternoon, her and Noah (my nephew) were playing and wanted to go outside. Noah asked her if she wanted to go outside and swing. Maeci stated the following (with that little attitude and hands on her hips!!)...."No, I don't want to go outside because if we do, the Tannybocus will get us!! What in the heck is that?? I still don't know. Anyone have any ideas?? (This is not the time for you city folk to make fun of the newly transplanted country folk!!)

Bye Bye Baby...

Well, its bye bye baby food!! Even though it makes me sad because this means my baby is growing out of the baby stage...I am sooo glad to not have to buy baby food anymore. I hate buying baby food. It's such a hassle to buy all of that and I am certainly not domestic enough to make it. I am glad that this phase is over but now its on to "let me do it myself" phase and I don't know that I am ready to have 2 kids that are that way.

Friday, August 15, 2008

I was folding laundry and the kids were watching WordWorld. This is one of their favorite shows and Camden always screams at the TV when it is on. I had to video them and put it on here because it is just so cute. Camden is really starting to respond to his sister and the fighting has yet to begin between the two of them. I figure I better get it on tape while I can because soon enough the playing together will be few and far between.

I want to be a rockstar...

Good morning everyone! Today is one of those days that I woke up early and now I have managed to get most of my work done already and its only like 9 am. Camden was being such a good boy while I was working. He loves to sit and play with toys, especially if they are Maeci's. I have attached a video of him playing (or trying to) Maeci's guitar. It's so cute!! Scott says that we are getting him one for his birthday so he won't have to play with Maeci's pink one. I actually think it's kind of cute, at least for now. Maybe later on when he's a famous guitarist, he will look back and appreciate the hot pink guitar video! (Probably not, but its really cute anyway!)

Go for the Gold!!

I love it when the Olympics come around. When they are on, that is all I watch. I love to watch all of the sports but especially swimming and gymnastics. It just amazes me what these people do to their bodies and how much they have to give up at such a young age to be a part of the Olympics. Last night as I watched the women's gymnastics, I thought to myself, "these girls are like 15 years old." My biggest concern when I was 15 was checking out the boy next door and playing sports. These kids train everyday for several hours. I like their dedication and hard work. I am sure that they would love to know that their training, hard work, dedication, and sweat, was providing me numerous hours of entertainment. If you don't watch the Olympics, you should because you will not see a greater group of dedicated and passionate athletes. If you disagree, look at the pictures of the USA men's relay swimming team when the came from behind to beat the trash-talking France team. Not only did they surprise the world but the broke the past world record by 4 SECONDS!! They won the gold made the team from France eat their words. That is what the Olympics are all about!!

DG at work!!

Most of you that know me, know that I love parties. I am always looking for ways to do things and try to be creative. Most of the time, it never works. I always see cute little crafty things that people do and I think "man, that is so cute, why couldn't I do something like that?" Of course, I never try it. Well, after having both of my babies, I decided to start making some of their stuff, like scrapbooks, Maeci's hairbow's, etc. The scrapbook thing lasted about 2 weeks, when I realized that I had to buy all of the little things and keep them all separate. That was way too much work for just one page at a time. Maeci's hairbows lasted about 5 minutes when I burned myself with the hot glue gun and then my bow didn't even hold. I gave all of that up. A few days ago, I decided to open my craft book and maybe make another go of something. I found these cute little paint buckets that had been glued and papered to make this hodge podge of cute and craftiness. I decided I was going to try it. I purchased all of the things that I needed minus the few pages of paper, which my sis-in-law so nicely picked up for me at the craft store. (Thanks Jodi!) I got home and within 2 hours I was finished with the first one. It didn't turn out too bad if I say so myself!! I was quite impressed. I made another one the next day to take to a baby shower and lo and behold, if Scott didn't think that I bought them somewhere. He was VERY surprised when I told him that I had made them. I even had to get the scraps of paper and ribbon out so that he would believe me!! (Thanks for the vote of confidence babe!!) I took them to the baby shower and got so many compliments that I decided to add them to the blog! Here are the pictures of them! Also, I made the basket too. Actually, I added ribbon to the basket and made the bows. I hot glued the bows on, this time without burning myself. I really making all of the little crafts and when I was finished, I thought to myself, "If this is not Domestic Goddess-like, I don't know what is.

Days of Glory

Sorry I am just now getting back to blogging. It has been one crazy week! On Saturday night, we went to our friend Neal (Gibbs') birthday party. It was so much fun!! We ate hamburgers, hotdogs, dip, fruit, and of course, cake. We never have a get together without cake!! After we had eaten, we went swimming for a while. That was nice and relaxing...if you think being in a pool with about 10 kids is relaxing, but it was a great time!! Once we got the kids settled, the guys pulled out the karaoke machine!! Most of you know that I love having a good time but the karaoke machine was too much! Jodi, Lori, & I got up there and sang "Hit me with your best shot," it was hilarious!! After some of the other people sang, Lori & I took our turn and sang "Don't Cha!" I was laughing so hard, I couldn't hardly sing. The best part was when I tricked Jodi into getting up there and singing a "song of my choice." I put on Fergie's Fergalicious...that was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen in my life. If you don't understand, just read the lyrics and you will! We got some of it on video but I cannot share because I don't want my singing to be the next best thing on Youtube!! Thanks for a great time and some great memories!!!

Cute game!!

Just a quick post about the kids! Camden was having a great time playing with Maeci! I think that she was enjoying herself too!! Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did!!

Early Risers

Last night, I was so excited to have some time to myself once the kids went to bed. Maeci was really tired and she fell asleep at 7:30 on the bed watching cartoons. Camden was in the bed at his normal time of 8:30. So by 8:30, I was trying to figure out what I was going to do. Scott is still gone to Lafayette until late this afternoon so I could watch whatever I wanted. I decided to to some laundry. I folded it all and was done at like 8:45. I sat on the floor and remembered that I had some stuff to do for a baby shower I am helping with. I got my basket out and I weaved the ribbon in and out of it. When I got finished, I tied the bow. It actually looked really good!! I got my hot glue gun and glued the edges of the ribbon down. When I got done, I have to say, I was impressed with myself. Most of you that know me, know I am not a super domestic goddess, although I would like to be. I guess I got carried away being a goddess, because I started wrapping this girl's presents with ribbon and tying up towels with it. When I got done, I was tired but super proud of my now awesome looking basket!! I looked up and it was now 1:45am!!! I finished picking up my stuff and then went to bed. At 5:45am, Camden started crying for his morning bottle. I got up and gave it to him. I quickly laid him back down and jumped back in bed. Maeci promptly came into my room and without saying anything, turned on the light, pulled back my covers, and jumped into the bed. When I asked her what she was doing, she repleid, "my tummy says it's hungry, see listen." She put her tummy to my ear and sure enough, it was growling. I asked her if she could wait like 30 minutes if I gave her some books to read. She said 'mommy do you want me to waste away to nothing?" At that moment, I wanted to say "yes" but against by better judgement, I told her "no, that I would be incredibly sad and that I would take her downstairs to get some food." I looked at the clock...6:02am. I was thinking you have got to be kidding me. So, both of my kids were up and ready to go. I will so be taking a nap with them today!! (Yeah right, I always say that but it never gets done!!)

Crazy week ahead!!

This week is a crazy week for us. Scott is gone to Oklahoma today, Livingston, TX tomorrow, and Lafayette, La on Thursday. I guess that makes me a single mom for the next couple of days. I really don't mind it because I love my kids to death but I after Thursday I will be in need some serious alone time. I am sure that I won't get it because this coming weekend is the Wilson family vacation. We will be going to a Rangers game on Sunday and to Hurricane Harbor on Monday. There will be a total of 11 of us. It should be fun but we will definitely have to be ready to deal with 5 kids under the age of 9. I know you all think we must be crazy and I am sure on Monday night if you ask me that, I will tell you that I was crazy but I am sure that we will have a good time.

Off the Charts!!!

Today is one of those days that parents hate. Well care check-ups for the kids. I hate these days because even though I get to see how the kids are progressing, the get the dreaded shots. When Maeci was a baby, she almost always cried long enough for me to pick her up and then she would go to the car and sleep. Now that she is older, she gets scared and doesn't want to go so I have to practically her out of the car to go see the Doc. So, today I took her and Camden in to the Dr office and sat for about 3 hours from start to finish. Dr. said that Camden is almost off the charts on his weight, height, and yes, his head circumference. I think that the Dr. knew I was worried about his head so he said, "his head is proportional to his body, don't worry mom, its all those brains he has." Once we were done weighing and being examined, Maeci started to try to run out the door. I had to bribe her with whatever she wanted to stay and not make a huge scene. So, Maeci got 5 shots, yes, I said 5. She was such a trooper! She cried but the minute we got to the car, she started talking about all of the things she was going to get at the store. Camden got 3 shots and he wasn't as forgiving. He cried and then cried some more. I gave him his paci and his blanket and he went to sleep just like Maeci used to. I pulled into the Dollar Store parking lot and with in 5 minutes, Maeci had racked up $15.30 in bribery redemption. 2 barbies, some silly putty, and and iron. Not sure what she is going to do with that but that's what she wanted. Well, shot day is over for at least a while. Now my pocketbook and I can recover!!

Van Gogh at Work??

A couple of days ago my mom got Maeci this sidewalk paint by Crayola. It is great because it is 100% washable! Today we went outside and painted for a while on the driveway. Maeci and I were having fun drawing pictures and writing our names. Maeci asked me to draw a picture of Scott so I did. She told me everything to do and of course, I followed her instruction. When I was done with his hair, she said "now draw some flowers in his hand." I looked at her and she said "come on mommy, follow directions." So, of course I obliged her and drew some flowers in Scott's hand. When I finished she said, "that is the most fabulous self-portrait of Daddy I have ever seen..especially the flowers." I kind of laughed and thought to myself, too bad I don't see that more often. No sooner than the words popped in my head, Maeci says "I hope my husband brings me flowers everyday." I started cracking up laughing!! Maeci followed that statement by saying "well, if he doesn't that's ok, he'll just sleep outside with his walking stick!!" I don't know what that was all about but I burst out laughing. She looked at me and smiled. She was sooo proud of herself for making me laugh. I have attached the pics so that you can see the portrait we painted. Camden was just having a good time in the stroller playing with his toys. He is such a good boy!!

Short Vacation

Sunday morning I woke up to Scott saying to me "get up, we have to have the kids at my mom's by 8:30 for Sunday school." I slowly sat up because I realized that Scott had taken on my normal role on Sunday's. You see those of you that know us, know that Scott is not a morning person, so it was very strange for him to be telling me to get up. I said "why are the kids going with your mom today?" He said because we are going somewhere. That statement nearly made me faint. I asked what do you mean...and he said "you and I are going somewhere by ourselves without the kids." He now had my full attention!! He said "start packing your stuff and then I will help you with the kids." He was serious! I immediately felt my heart start pounding at the thought of going somewhere, anywhere, without both of the kids. I was so excited that I started throwing stuff in suitcases and was done packing in like 10 minutes for all of us. I asked him where we were going and he told me he couldn't say, but that the kids were going to Austin to see his sister and her family with his mom. Then it hit me...we were going to be staying overnight without the kids. I haven't been away from Camden one night since he was born and he is 10 months old. It was a much needed break for the both of us. We finally got the kids dropped off and started on our trip. We drove down I-45 to Houston and all the way through the city. At this point, I was about to go crazy because I didn't know where we were going. It finally hit me that there wasn't too many places left and the we must be going to Galveston. After pulling into Galveston, Scott calmly says "we are here!!" When he said that I realized that he had pulled off getting childcare for the kids, booking our hotel, and getting some of the laundry washed without me knowing!! Kudos to you babe!! He actually had some work to do on Pelican Island and his boss suggested that he take me with him. So, we had a wonderful but short vacation that was funded by his boss!! It was so fun and very nice to be alone and have adult coversation with no interuptions!! Thanks sweetie for a well planned and well executed vacation!! It was much needed for the both of us!!

My first post

Well, today is my first post!! We are just hanging out today at home and playing catch up on some cleaning. Maeci is watching a movie and Camden is laying down to take his nap. I wish I could take a nap. I have to go to work tonight so I have to get some laundry done. Sounds like fun huh...
